Sweethearts Are Back in Time for Valentine's Day!!

Written by
Conversation hearts are back this Valentine's Day! Yes, the Sweethearts are back this year. They have been saved! If you recall, the New England Confectionery Co. (NECCO) went under back in 2018. They made those lovable heart-shaped confections and last Valentine's Day we had to go without them. The Spangler Candy Co. in Bryan, Ohio took over NECCO late last year and now we have Sweethearts again this year. There are some changes though. The…

Perfect Snowflakes!

Written by
Winter has arrived in NEO and the cold temperatures are here to stay, at least for the the next couple days. We had the cold, the wind and the snow over the weekend, and of course we started the slow move of my parents. Ha! It was in the teens yesterday with a few scattered snowflakes falling in the afternoon. We were carrying out some clothes and boxes to take to my parent's new condo…

JCPenney at Chapel Hill Mall to Close

Written by
JCPenney at Chapel Hill Mall is the latest department store to announce that it will close. The store will close its doors this spring on April 24th. I am sure you have heard the drama surrounding the money troubles concerning Chapel Hill Mall, so with JCPenney leaving I am sure this does not bode well for the mall's shaky future. JCPenney made a statement about the closing saying- it was a business decsion. I hear…

My First Concert of 2020: Morgan Wallen

Written by
Last night was my first concert of 2020- the Whiskey Glasses Roadshow: Morgan Wallen, Jon Langston and Ashland Craft. It was a great way to start a year full of great country shows. Ashland is a newcomer and she put on a fun, upbeat set. Jon followed with his amp-ed up tunes that had the crowd ready to go. When I say ready to go, I mean for Morgan Wallen. This guy is a star.…

Sarah Kay Cooks: Parmesan Chicken

Written by
To continue my healthy-ish eating habits, I have been eating a lot of chicken. Grilled chicken, baked chicken, broiled chicken, all the chicken. Last night, chicken was on the menu again. I wanted to jazz it up. I opened the fridge and I had eggs, butter and Parmesan cheese. All low carb friendly. I made a little wash with the egg and a bit of butter, dipped it in the cheese, baked it for 20…

Tiki Barge Coming to Cleveland!

Written by
There is a floating tiki barge coming to Cleveland in June and I am so onboard! Sounds perfect for a party with friends, just the gals, for a birthday, a bachelorette party or just a Friday night. You get it for 2 hours, for up to 20 people, it is BYOB and there is a bathroom- thank goodness. Maybe this idea is asking for trouble, but I see fun drinks, tropical head gear and lots…

I found a new recipe and I tried it out yesterday: Stuffed Zucchini Boats. It was a total success. I loved the meal as did the Warren! It was super easy to make and it is super delicious, healthy and low carb. I am remaining on the straight and narrow- that is the goal for 2020, with my healthy eating and this recipe was a home run and I will use it again. I did…

Food Network Says Belgrade's is the Best!

Written by
Food Network TV's website chose Belgrade's for its list of "The Best Fried Chicken in Every State" for Ohio! I must say- I totally agree. I love me some Barberton chicken, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Belgrade's hands down. Growing up, my mom would take me and my sister there all the time with her family, because growing up she went there with her family. I can remember the different rooms, the…

Be A Hotdogger!

Written by
Once again Oscar Mayer is hiring Hotdoggers to drive the Wienermobile across the country. This is the dream! Well, at least for me! Over the summer, the Wienermobile came to Canton for the Hall of Fame festivities and I got to go see it, pose for pics and chat with some of the Hotdoggers. These kids are great and they are having the time of their lives. They are traveling the country, meeting tons of…
