My Favorite Super Bowl Commercial!

I love the Super Bowl. The game, the halftime show, the music, and of course the commercials. It's my favorite part every year. And after sitting on it for a few days, this is definitely my favorite commercial this year:

This was my favorite for so many reasons. If you're not aware, Ben Afflack and Dunkin is kind of a meme at this point. Ben and Jennifer Lopez are also one of my favorite celebrity couples right now, and the whole ad is a sweet surprise for all of those customers. It's sweet, short, and funny all at once. Love it!

Some Great Gardening Tips!

I was scrolling Facebook and this post came up about repurposing rotisserie chicken containers into mini-greenhouses and I thought that was a great idea. Also, why haven't I thought of this before? It makes total sense. Usually when I start my seeds I use egg cartons, but with prices these days, those may be few and far between, HAHA.

The article shares a lot of great ideas to get that garden started this year and in an environmentally friendly way. Click here to read!

Lotta Leavin' Left To Do - Dierks Bentley  -  2005

SW small Logo This song for me is what Dierks Bentley is REALLY all about.  I have talked with some close to Dierks over the years at various concerts backstage and they all say his real, true musical love is deep country and the like.  I am a big fan of Dierks and when I hear him sing this song from the insanely great Modern Day Drifter album, I believe every fiber of it. This suits him perfectly musically. He also sounds right at home singing it and has the perfect musicians playing on it.  This is very Waylon Jennings inspired and has that wonderful "life on the road feel" to it.  For some, the feel and title may have a slight highly confident air to it, but it's more honest than anything else.  This song went to number three on the charts, and should have been a number one.

WYNN - Eat Of The Week

One of the real challenges to making a great piece of meat at home as opposed to a really nice restaurant is the tenderness of the meat. Buying a GREAT steak at your favorite meat market is all well and good, you just don't want to mess it up when you get it home.  Well, this works - read below, give it a whirl and up your meat game!

Enjoy

New season. Adjusted rules.

The 2023 baseball season starts at the end of next month bringing with it some new rules. Here's a quick rundown:

1. End of the shift as we knew it - Now, all infielders will have to be in the dirt or infield grass until the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. Then they can move as they wish.

2. Pitch Clock - Pitchers will now have 15 seconds to throw when bases are empty, and 20 seconds when there is a runner. Batters must be in the box with 8 seconds on the clock.

3. Pickoffs/Disengagements - Pitchers will be allowed 2/plate appearance without penalty. This includes defense calling time.

4. Bigger bases - Yes, the bases on the field are getting larger...from 15 to 18 inches. Simply trying to reduce injury. Red Sox Manager Alex Cora joked they kinda look like pizza boxes now! LOL. I kinda agree.

That's the jist of it. I'm looking forward to another fun season of baseball. GO GUARDS!

WYNN - Today's Sunday Morning Song - 2-19

SW small Logo Son Of A Sinner was a huge hit for Jelly Roll on the country charts going number one.  Waylon Jennings' grandson in many ways seems incredibly different than his grandad. But a deeper dive shows maybe not as much as first thought.  Waylon came in from the outside and shook things up in country with a far newer sound, a far different look and attitude in his era, and he was not accepted right away -  but of course things changed.  Jelly Roll does the same.  Both share the DNA of being good singers of "soul searching songs."  Jelly Roll's first hit was a powerful autobiographical anthem, that was deeply personal and spoke to millions in similar situations.  His new song does it again.  Should be noted the eras are amazingly different as is country music overall, but there are some things that will always ring true in country and with country fans.  As with Waylon, and now Jelly Roll, we should listen to the message first   -  before we do anything else.  It takes guts to be different. Incredibly honest, vulnerable and powerful.  -  I Need A Favor

Here's Waylon  -  Two Autobiographical And Outside Of The Box Songs Both Big Hits

Waylon - Shine

Waylon - Are You Ready For The Country  (He even asks, "Are you ready for me?")

Jelly Roll - New Song  -  I Need A Favor

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Eve!!!  Tomorrow is a big day.  Hearts will be full and hopefully no hearts broken!

Sure the elaborate gifts and sentimental ideas are huge.

If it is flowers, chocolates, jewelry or just a romantic dinner.   Sometimes the big elaborate is too much or something you can't afford.

Truth be told, everyone has to eat.  Instead of going out to dinner, grab a recipe and try it as a couple.

"Those that make a recipe together, stay together" type stuff.  Just have a fire extinguisher handy incase things get too hot!!!  HAHA!!

If it is a success the next time you make the dish or have it out at a restaurant it might take you back to a Valentine's you will never forget.

At least have some fun stories.  If this will put you in the doghouse then just get the presents...

And from experience homemade coupon books usually don't work.  Happy Valentine's Day.
