My family and I just got back from a week long vacation to The Great Smoky Mountains! It was a nice, relaxing week for all of us. I've been there before but it has been a really long time, my family had never been, so when planning this last year I made the suggestion and they were all in!
We did a lot of hiking, we really wanted to take advantage of being in this beautiful national park. We also went whitewater rafting, which my kids ended up loving so we will definitely do that agan sometime. And this is cool, turns out our river guide, Dan, was from Lakewood!
We made sure to spend a day at Dollywood. The park is amazing, there is so much to do and see, it's huge! There are even trams to take you from the parking lot to the park it is that big! It was the perfect day for a first visit!
The big highlight though, we saw bears! I told my family that bears cross the road like deer do back here. Thank goodness they didn't make me look bad!
