This time of the year is filled with so many feelings and emotions. Many are really great and some are not so. Many feel big pressure on gift giving, both receiving and giving. The latter is a major problem for many. Especially as you get older it is harder to buy gifts for people, namely family members.
So here is some help, on how to step up your gift giving game!
We are now into another time of year where a daily battle takes place in many houses - the temperature on the thermostat. Luckily for me, it's just me and the cat...whatever I say goes and he has no say no matter much he may try ;) lol.
Also luckily for me, this has never been a battle in the houses I have lived in. It was comfortable growing up, then my ex and I always agreed on a temperature which was great! I keep it right at 68 during the day and when I'm sleeping, I turn it down to about 65. In the summer I try to keep it around 73 or 74. I just like to be comfortable - not freezing or hot. Not to mention trying to save money! lol
Being productive is hard, especially if you have ADHD like I do. I was super productive yesterday, despite not doing everything on my to-do list. I try to be a creature of habit and stick to a routine, and once in a blue moon I actually follow through.
Last week was a really good week for me, stuck to the routine and got stuff done. But as this week has progressed thus far, I woke up this morning wanting to do absolutely nothing. I sat around a lot watching youtube and catching up on shows. I did the bare minimum. Even as I'm writing this I feel unmotivated.
I'm determined to not let this burnout get to me though. I finished folding my laundry, I got dressed and ready to roll, I cooked for myself, heck even writing this post is a step forward. I will be taking it easy though. If there's one thing I learned in recent years, it's that you have to be kind with yourself, and let yourself take it easy once in a while. There's always tomorrow.
Now if you'll excuse me, my cat is sleeping on my laptop, and I think she deserves some pets while I watch more Youtube.
Last night, Shania Twain was honored at the People's Choice Awards with the Music Icon award and sang a medley of some of her biggest hits! One song though, got a bit of an update. In her hit song "That Don't Impress Me Much" the original lyrics are "Oh-oh, you think you’re special/Oh-oh, you think you’re something else/OK, so you’re Brad Pitt/That don’t impress me much." But last night, Brad Pitt was replaced with fellow Canadian Ryan Reynolds and his reaction was pretty humble, "me?" haha! Watch the whole performance below, but that moment starts at 2:19 in!
In the off chance you haven't heard yet, the Guardians made quite the signing Tuesday afternoon! We signed 1B Josh Bell to a 2-year $33 Million deal! I'm excited to see what he can bring to the team!
All of a sudden I'm ready for March to roll around so they can get out to Phoenix for Spring Training! If I'm being honest, it's not just for the baseball. It's also because after the end of this month I have no more use for the cold weather and am ready for sun and 70s again lol.
I find some of the coolest ideas on Instagram! This one is a cool way to use ribbon to make a Christmas Tree! Take a look and see how it's done, and happy gifting!

What a wonderful wintery weekend I had! My first Tree of Lights was one for the books! I had such a wonderful time meeting everyone and raising money. A record breaking total of $80,783 was donated and our tree looks beautiful! Thank you to those who donated!
After I was on air for Tree of Lights, I went down to C-bus to partake in a beer tasting. My favorite movie theater EVER, Studio 35, did a themed beer tasting for the movie A Christmas Story. We tasted 10 beers, had some laughs, won some prizes, and watched the movie! It was a lot of fun, and I even tried a really great beer from around the area! They even had a delicious themed pizza that paired well.
And yesterday I got a lot of sweets from some bakeries and cafes, and watched the Netflix animated Christmas movie Klaus for the first time. I cried twice.
It was such a great way to kick off the holiday season. I'm excited for what the rest of the month has in store!
Bailey Zimmerman just earned his first #1 single with "Fall in Love" and he is ready to go with his next hit and sent "Rock and A Hard Place" to radio as his next single! Bailey said when he first heard the song he really connected with it and it has helped him in life, and he loves how fans sing along to it at his shows. The song is about a guy whose relationship is about to break up, describing it as between a "Rock and A Hard Place". A relatable song, which is why he connected with it.
