Acting The Part

Country Artists are no strangers to acting.

Lainey is currently on Yellowstone.  Reba had her own sitcom and is on Big Sky.

Trace Adkins is on Monarch.  Luke Bryan is on Idol and Blake on The Voice.

Tim McGraw and Faith were in 1883 recently.  Friday Night Lights and Touched By An Angel just a few other credits.

The list goes on and on from Dolly, Willie, Randy Travis.... to a ton of country cameo's and variety shows thru the years too.

There are many artists in the acting game.

Toby Keith's 2008 movie Beer for My Horses was inspired by his song with the same name.

George Strait had Pure Country... where he had soundtrack duties and acted.

Now, Granger Smith went ahead and put out his new album and has a movie to go along with it... YEE YEE.

'Moonrise' the album is out now...  and the movie where he makes his acting debut will be released on December 15th.

Here is the trailer:

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and so are a bunch of awesome movies you can see at your local cinema! One of my favorite things to do with my family on Thanksgiving is go to the movies, and maybe yours is too! Here are 5 picks (one for each night of the long weekend!) to check out if you're headed to the movies!

1. The Menu

This one actually comes out today! This foodie thriller is set in a destination restaurant where diners may get more than what they ordered. A great way to cleanse your palate before the turkey and stuffing, or after a cut-throat black Friday haul. I'm personally excited to see Anya Taylor-Joy in another thriller after Last Night In Soho!

2. Strange World

This is a great option to see with the whole family. Kids, parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles can all pile into the van and enjoy this odd new animated feature from Disney! I'm not exactly sure what this movie is about plot wise, but I'm sure we can expect a high stakes adventure in a strange new world!

3. The Fablemans

This film is one I've been highly anticipating. This semi-biographical tale from the one and only Steven Spielberg is a perfect escape after a few days with overbearing inlaws, or just something to enjoy while everyone else watches football. Even if either of these scenarios don't apply to you, this one is definitely worth checking out if you're a classic movie fan, as Speilberg is sure to deliver. I'm personally excited to see Paul Dano and Michelle Williams opposite of each other!

4. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

This murder mystery is a great way to unwind after a few days of eating, then shopping, then eating again! You can check out this one in theaters before it drops on Netflix in December! You can check out the trailer and my thoughts here!

5. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Your friends loved it, the critics loved it, and heck even I told you to check it out, and now you finally have time to go and see it for yourself! This isn't just a great installment in the MCU, this is a great way to start or end your Thanksgiving weekend! This movie is fun, action packed, and great for the whole family (or at least your teenager who was on their phone all the way to grandmas).

There are so many great movies coming out in the coming weeks, and I hope you'll check out these suggestions and whatever you think will suit you or your families tastes! Next week I'll tell you what you should stream!

Tyler Hubbard just made his solo Grand Ole Opry debut, then earned his first solo #1 single, and announced that he will be releasing his self-titled debut solo album in January!

Tyler has now sent his next single to radio! It's called "Dancing In The Country" and you'll definitely be up and moving for this one! This upbeat song has Tyler throwing a dance party in the country and having a good time! The song was co-written by Tyler, Keith Urban, Jon Nite and Ross Copperman.

On a quest!

I went with my mom on Thursday afternoon out to Medina for a specific reason. She wanted to get some wool socks made from Alpaca wool. So, we stopped by Majestic Meadows Alpaca Farm just North of Rte 18. She got a couple pairs and DANG!!!! Those socks are warm!

If you are someone (like me on occasion) who's feet get cold no matter what, I suggest giving these a try. A good stocking stuffer idea perhaps???

To Watch Or Not To Watch!

Okay, how do you out do the original??  In Northeast Ohio I have a conundrum.  To watch or not to watch?

I love the original it is a classic.  How can you out do that one?  I don't know if you can...  There aren't many movies that you can run for a 24-hour marathon that hold-up.  But "A Christmas Story" has and does!  It's a Christmas Tradition for many.

I mean when I say leg lamp, pink bunny suit, Red Rider BB Gun or even Fuuudddgggeeee!   What do you think of?

Tonight is the night that 'A Christmas Story Christmas' is released on HBOMAX.  Is that why the Christmas Story House is on the selling block in Tremont.  The thought did cross my mind (especially now that the actors want to buy it.  Think of the timing?)

I will probably watch it at some point... will you?  I Triple-Dog-Dare-Ya!

Fiction to (kinda) become reality?

It was announced a few days ago that the "A Christmas Story" house in Tremont was put up for sale. Now, it appears that several cast members from the movie are thinking of going in together and buying the property as a group! Yano Anaya who played Grover Dill, was in town for the premiere of the new sequel, and confirmed the cast is considering this move.

Over 150,000 people visit every year. About 40,000 in the month of December alone! That would be really cool to see the property owned by the people who were actually in the movie!

We will see what happens!

Extra! Extra!

If you or a loved one are around the University of Akron area, make sure to pick up a copy of The Buchtelite! It's UA's student run newspaper and the physical fall edition just dropped. I got the pleasure of talking to Savannah from the paper about WZIP's 60th anniversary. It was definitely a blast to do and wonderful to read! There's lots of other great articles to check out as well, like great editorials and student opinions.

Definitely get your hands on it if you can! Happy anniversary WZIP!

'Tis The Season!

I love the holiday season, so I get started right after Halloween. The week after is used to take down all of those decorations and store them for next year. Then all the Christmas decor comes out and a few days later trees are up, lights are on, and the Christmas tunes are cranked! And I'm sooooo close to baking my first batch of cookies, lol! Next up after Thanksgiving, we'll get our fresh cut tree at Galehouse Tree Farms, one of our favorite holiday traditions! Then, all the decorating will be complete.

I've been enjoying the holidays for a little over a week now, and I hope my family loves how I decorated when they come over for Thanksgiving dinner! Happy Holidays!
