The snow yesterday was AMAZING! It's crazy how snow without ice is 1000 times better than snow with ice! The roads are clear, it's not too cold, and it looks absolutely gorgeous outside! What could be better than that?

A lot of my friends took advantage of the lovely snow and went on walks through the park. The dogs love to play in it when they go outside. I prefer looking at it through a window with a hot cup of cocoa (or tea!)

Thomas Rhett just sent the follow up to twenty #1 singles to radio, and we served up his new song during the WQMX Country Cafe today! "Angels (Don't Always Have Wings)" appears on his most recent album Where We Started and was written by Thomas, Julian Bunetta, Jaten Dimsdale and Josh Thompson. The song celebrates unconditional, patient love.

Thomas said in a press release, "This is my favorite song from the album. I wrote it from a personal perspective, but I think it will resonate with a lot of people,” said Thomas Rhett. “It’s about how none of us are perfect, and how lucky we are to have those people in our lives who show up and love us despite our flaws. I often look at my wife and think she’s truly an angel, for the love and grace she shows me every single day.”

It's almost time for the 3rd annual Red White & Bowl! This year we are going to be at Stonehedge Entertainment on Cuyahoga Falls Ave. in Akron.   Darius Rucker surprised everyone years ago he stated he was going country and I am glad he did.  His music over the years is loved, and overall has been great.  When he released this Bob Dylan written song from 1973, it was an instant hit.  This is one of the more fun songs of this newer century and he was the perfect artist for it.  The catchy, bouncy beat and slick video with easy to remember words are the signature of any hit song.  This is one of those songs that could be a blueprint for others to follow.  It makes you happy and sometimes I think we need a whole lot more of that in country.  Understanding that not all songs can be this way, it is interesting to note as I put this top 50 list together there are all kinds of songs, but there are a lot that make you smile and happy.  Darius Rucker is a supreme vocalist, who sounds great singing just about any kind of song.  As a singer, he is among our best, if not the best, he's a total pro.  Just a flat out GREAT song.  Go ahead, click below and sing along, you know you want to.

I am not a gigantic "sweet" eater.  I do love Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, and...pie.   I also love ice cream, but being honest I don't eat much of either.   But I do love Chocolate Chip Cookies, and if they're in the house, I will eat them.  They are magnificent! 

I grew up in Berea and there is a bakery called Dick's Bakery that has the most amazing ones ever.  When I travel there I have to pick up a dozen.  But I found this article doing some show prep that can help us make the best ones at the house.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever!

The wait is finally over, HARDY dropped his new album 'the mockingbird & THE CROW' at midnight today! The new album which is half country and half rock, already has two singles that are climbing up two different charts. You've heard "wait in the truck" featuring Lainey Wilson on 94.9 WQMX and his single "JACK" has been played on our sister station 107.3 Alternative Cleveland! We're not kidding when we say we are HUGE supporters of HARDY! 

When HARDY first announced that he would be releasing his sophomore album, he also previewed "here lies country music", "TRUCK BED", the title track "the mockingbird & THE CROW". Those songs definitely left fans, including myself, really wanting to hear the rest of this album. The titles stylized with lowercase titles for the country side, and all caps for the rock side so you know which is which, but it really doesn't matter. All the songs showcase his brilliant song writing and each song recorded with passion in the vocals as only HARDY could to tell the stories in each song.

As a fan, I love every song on this album, but I couldn't wait to hear "happy". When Sarah Kay asked HARDY which of the songs off of the album was his favorite, that was the one. All of the songs on the album were co-written by HARDY, except that one, that one was all him. It's a song that personifies the word 'happy', the lyrics turn 'happy' into a person and it is so good! I love the Rock Hall. It took me forever to go there the first time - one of those 'it's in my backyard, so I never really think to go' kinda things. I'm glad I have been - it's so much fun! 

First, it's a beautiful building. Second, there is SO MUCH cool memorabilia from several genres of music. I personally can always skip the actual "Hall of Fame" part. I'm there to see the momentos and artifacts like the Michael Jackson glove, or a Diana Ross dress, or a napkin that an artist wrote lyrics on.

This trailer just dropped today, and now I'm even MORE excited for the movie! Scream VI is, well, the sixth installment of the Scream franchise. The movies had a soft reboot last January, and as a huge fan of the original films, I loved it! This new one takes place in NYC, and looks a little more...violent? Than the others we've seen before (and that's saying a lot!) I'm excited to see it in March!
