Nashville News: Friday, 10/28 It's two years since Sam Hunt put out his full-length debut album, Montevallo-- hope you're not holding your breath. Most artists put out new music every couple of years, but Sam says he's taking his time with the follow-up. He says, “I have a lot less time to devote to the second record, so I’ve tried to figure out how to be as efficient as a songwriter with the new obligations and a new lifestyle since I’m not as free to write." That doesn't mean there's nonew music on the way. He adds, “I’ve got a few songs that I’m excited about that I’m going to put out, even if that is a long time before the next record comes out.” Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler's syndicated daytime talk show is getting closer to becoming a reality. Though it's not in production yet, Kellie says they're putting the concept together. It will be a lifestyle show, interviewing real people, talking about small businesses, shining the light on special talents and helping people make their dreams come true! No word yet on when show will begin airing.

Nashville News: Friday, 10/21 The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced its nominees for induction in the Class of 2017. Vince Gill is the only country artist nominated for the honor. Other possible inductees include Madonna, Gloria Estefan, Jay-Z and Bryan Adams.The Songwriters Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognizing the work and lives of those composers and lyricists who create music around the world. Kane Brown has revealed the title, release date, and tracks for his upcoming debut album.His self-titled debut album is set for release on Dec. 2 and will feature 11 songs. Kane contributed heavily to the songwriting on the album, and the tracks also feature contributions from Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley from Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young and more of the other top songwriters in Nashville.

Nashville News: Friday, 10/14 Just call her Professor Reba McEntire. She shares her insights on performing and vocal technique on the online learning platform MasterClass. Reba says, “I love to learn from other people, so working with MasterClass, being able to share some of the lessons I’ve been taught, is exciting! For the first time, I’m getting to offer up what I believe makes a killer song, my vocal techniques and some tidbits I’ve experienced throughout my career." The class is $90. Other celebrities offering classes include Christina Aguilera, Kevin Spacey, Usher, Serena Williams, Dustin Hoffmanand screenwriterAaron Sorkin. Luke Bryan had to make a trip to the hospital recently for surgery to repair his broken clavicle after a biking accident last week. He let fans that he is doing okay with a photo of his now-mended clavicle after getting treatment. The photo was a picture of an x-ray. Fear not, Luke is back at it already returning to the road for his Farm Tour and his sexy S moves.

Nashville News: Friday, 10/7 Keith Urban will ring in 2017 in Nashville as the headliner of the city's New Year's Eve celebration. He'll join the lineup that includes Charlie Worsham,A Thousand Horses, Styx and more. Jennifer Nettles is expanding her talents into jewelry designing. She's partnered with another designer for the American West collection -- a line of necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings sold exclusively on QVC. But Jennifer isn't stopping at jewelry -- she hopes to design her own line of clothing one day. Jennifer also has a new Christmas album entitled, “To Celebrate Christmas” coming out on October 28th.

Nashville News: Thursday, 9/30 George Strait releases his second box set, Strait Out of the Box: Part 2, on November 18th. The collection spans 20 years of hits from 1996 to now and features 56 tracks -- including 26 number-one hits -- all hand picked by George himself. George released the first volume of the collection in 1995. The Strait camp has just announced a production of another kind. George's son Bubba and his wife Tamara welcomed their second child, Jillian Louise, on September 10th. Bubba and Tamara also have a son -- four-year-old George Harvey Strait the Third. Florida Georgia Line and Dierks Bentley have designed T-shirts to honor their favorite NFL teams. Dierks's shirt will show his support for his hometown Arizona Cardinals, while Florida Georgia Line are displaying their Tennessee Titans pride. The artists get a cut of the profits to give to the charity of their choice. All 30 teams are represented by artists from various genres.

Nashville News: Wednesday: 9/21 An airdate has finally been announced for Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love. The movie will air on NBC on November 30th, followed by its release on DVD on December 20th. The film stars Jennifer Nettles, and Ricky Schroeder reprising their roles as Dolly's mother and father. Dolly will serve as the narrator and make a special appearance as "the painted lady" -- the woman she modeled her style after. The final scenes of the movie were filmed at Dollywood. Lee Brice and Justin Mooreare joining forces for a co-headlining tour. Dubbed the American Made Tour, William Michael Morgan will join them on the stint, which begins in January. They will all be at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on February 9th!

Nashville News: Friday, 9/16 Dierks Bentley is putting the brakes on his annual Miles and Music for Kids motorcycle ride and concert after 10 years. He made the announcement onFacebook yesterday. "I feel so incredible about what we’ve been able to accomplish together. Four million dollars for children’s hospitals…crazy! Couldn’t have done it without y’all, all my artist friends, the bikers and the Nashville community that I'm so lucky to call home. I'm thinking and dreaming about what we might do next and how we can all keep making a difference together. Stay tuned and I'll see you on the road." Garth Brooks has partnered with Target to release an exclusive 10-CD box set titledGarth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection. The career-spanning set will be released on Nov. 11, prior to the release of his next studio album.The Ultimate Collectionwill include an exclusive version of the new album that features Target bonus tracks, and nine additional discs of music chosen from Garth’s catalog. The tracks will be remastered and include a selection of previously unreleased songs. Cleary, this is a must have for any Garth Brooks Fan!!!

Nashville News: Friday, 9/9 Blake Shelton's 2016 tour gets under way today in Oklahoma City. He says, “I’m ready to get back out on the road and play some new music, some favorites and a few obscure songs for the fans. I’m really excited to kick off this tour in my home state and thrilled that RaeLynn is joining us on this leg of the tour.” The tour won't interfere with his gig on The Voice -- the first shows airing are the pre-recorded blind auditions, which will premiere on September 19th. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be the next country artists inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame. The ceremony takes place on October 6th in Nashville's Walk of Fame Park. That date is a big deal for them -- it's their 20th wedding anniversary.

Nashville News: Friday, 9/2 Reba McEntire and Brooks and Dunn have extended their Las Vegas residency for a couple more years. They renegotiated their contract with Caesars Palace for their run of shows, which began last year. Ronnie Dunn says, "So we'll go into 2017, maybe parts of 2018... No end in sight." The next round of shows for Reba, Brooks and Dunn: Together in Vegas begins on November 30th. Carrie Underwood just launched the second leg of her Storytellertour. A few things have changed , but she’s still opening the show by rising up on a jukebox surrounded by pyro. It's the first tour where she's used fire for a good reason -- her hair is flammable- that’s the reason why she has been horrified of pyro. Carrie is also celebrating her CMA nominations including her nod for Entertainer of the Year!

Nashville News: Friday, 8/26 Alabama: Song of the South, the new exhibit celebrating the guys from Fort Payne, is open now at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. The display features instruments, stage outfits, awards and more. The exhibit runs through June 12th of next year. If you want to hear Jason Aldean's new album, They Don't Know, when it's released on September 9th, you'll have to buy it. It won't be available on any of the streaming services until a month after its release. Jason tells Billboard, "A new album is just like anything else. When the new iPhone comes out, when you go to the Apple store, they’re not just handing them out for free. If you want something that’s brand new, you’re willing to pay the price for it. And then, after it’s been out for a while, you may get it at a discount. That’s just business 101." So let’s review:They Don't Know will be available at both physical and digital retailers on release day. It will then be released to streaming services on October 9th.

Nashville News: Friday, 8/19 The Dixie Chickshave been raking in the dough since starting their first U.S. tour since 2006. So far they've brought in $26.6 million in ticket sales -- not bad for only 29 performances. Kenny Chesney narrowly edged them out by bringing in $31.1 million for his Spread the Love tour for the same time period. So far they've attracted over 400,000 people to their shows. The tour wraps in L.A. on October 10th. There's mutual admiration going on between Eric Church and Michael Phelps via Twitter. Michael, who included Eric in his pre-race playlist, tweeted to him, "When you coming to AZ? It was Record Year... I wanted to have the best year that I could." Eric's team replied,"Michael Phelps, March 28th in Phoenix. DM us your info and you'll be our guest. We would be honored. Congrats on your Record Year." It's been a record year for both Eric and Michael -- Eric picked up his seventh number one with "Record Year," and Michael picked up five gold medals at this year's Olympics.

Nashville News: Thursday, 8/11 Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Linehas been on his hiatus from social media for a month, and he isn't ready to go back to posting on his personal accounts just yet. He says "It's just kind of a cleanse if you will. Someone said that earlier. I think it's a cool analogy. I was spending a lot of time on it and I said, man, I need to have a little reality check. It was healthy for me personally. For how long, I don't really know." Tyler says he does help out with the Florida Georgia Line account. Lady Antebellum have been tapped to host and perform at the 10th annual ACM Honors at the Ryman Auditorium on August 30th. Also performing will be Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Cam, Maren Morris, Cole Swindell and Keith Urban. Those being honored include Glen Campbell, Crystal Gayle, Eddie Rabbitt,Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Jimmy Webb, Little Big Town and The Statler Brothers. Jason Aldean will accept the ACM's Triple Crown Award for winning the New Male Vocalist, Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year award throughout his career. The show will be taped on August 30th and air on September 9th on CBS.

Nashville News: Friday, 8/5 John Rich plans to open two Redneck Riviera bars by the end of the year. One will be on Lower Broadway in Nashville and the other will be next to Bally's in Las Vegas. The two locations will feature food, music and a Heroes Bar, which will be staffed by veterans and offer a first free drink to veteran patrons. The Redneck Riviera brand includes a line of clothing and boots for both men and women. Country newcomer William Michael Morgan is slated to debut his first major label album, Vinyl, early this fall. The project will feature his current single, “I Met a Girl,” which recently broke into the Top 20 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart and continues to climb. That track was penned by Sam Hunt, though William’s rendition has roots deeper in the traditional country sound. Vinyl is set for release on Sept. 30.
