Keith Urban is nominated for some AMAs…
Kane Brown dethroned Sam Hunt…

Keith Urban leads the country nominees for the American Music Awards. Keith is up for Favorite Male Artist - Country, Favorite Album - Country for Ripcord and Favorite Song - Country for "Blue Ain't Your Color." Sam Hunt follows with two nods -- one in the country male artist category and another for in the country song category for "Body Like a Backroad." Garth Brooks lands a nomination in the all-genre Tour of the Year category with Coldplay and U2.

Kane Brown has dethroned Sam Hunt! Right now, Kane’s song “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina sits atop Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart- a new No. 1 for the first time since Feb. 25, pushing Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” to No. 2 after a record 34 weeks at No. 1.

Chris Young says no duets on his new album…
Keith Urban to help with a Grammy celebration…

Chris Young likes duets -- this is clear by his last two songs, "Think of You" with Cassadee Pope and "Sober Saturday Night" with Vince Gill. But you won't find any duets on his new album, Losing Sleep. 
He says, "For me, I didn't want to force something that wasn't there and I didn't have a song that I was like, 'Aw man, this person would be perfect for this.' It was really something for me it was like, we could do something, but I don't think we should."
Losing Sleep comes out on October 20th. 

Keith Urban is among the artists featured in Grammys Greatest Stories: A 60th Anniversary Special. 
The retrospective also includes, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Dave Grohl, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Chris Martin, Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and U2.
Grammys Greatest Stories: A 60th Anniversary Special airs on November 24th on CBS.

Lauren Alaina’s debut movie is coming to CMT in November…
Kenny Rogers is getting a star on the Music City Walk of Fame…

Lauren Alaina's debut movie, Road Less Traveled has a premiere date November 10th on CMT. 
Lauren plays Charlotte, a successful songwriter who returns to her hometown and tries to juggle her career while planning her dream wedding. During her visit, she runs into an old boyfriend and must come to terms with her past while reconsidering her future.

Kenny Rogers is getting a star on the Music City Walk of Fame. 
He'll be honored on October 24th in Nashville -- just one day before his All In for the Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert Celebration at the Bridgestone Arena. 
The Walk of Fame honors those who have preserved the musical heritage of Nashville and have contributed to the world through song.

Shania Twain has a #1 album…
Kenny Chesney’s still at #1 with his latest song…

 

Shania Twain's new album, Now, has topped the Billboard charts. 

  
The album debuted in the top spot on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and the Billboard 200, bringing her the second number-one album of her career- Up was the first. 
Now is the second country album to hit number-one on the Billboard 200 in 2017, following Thomas Rhett's Life Changes. Now is also the first country album by a woman to lead the chart in more three years, since Miranda Lambert's Platinum spent a week at number-one back in 2014. 

Congrats again to Kenny Chesney as he scored the #1 single on the Mediabase Country Singles chart for the second week in a row with “All the Pretty Girls.” This is Kenny’s 30th number one song, but he says he doesn’t take any of them for granted.

 

Monday, 10/9

Luke Bryan’s new album due out in December…
Tim and Faith’s new album due out in November…
Jason Aldean returned to the stage via SNL…

Luke Bryan's sixth studio album, What Makes You Country, comes out on December 8th. 

Luke co-wrote seven of the 15 songs on the record. He says, "My favorite part of making a new album is getting to collaborate with the songwriting community in this town. It is important to me to continue to push myself to grow on all levels, and I feel like we did that on this project."

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will release their first joint album on November 17th. 
The Rest of Our Life features 11 songs, including "Speak to a Girl" and their new single “The Rest of Our Life.”  

Jason Aldean returned to the stage over the weekend.
He made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live, opening the show by saying, "This week, we witnessed one of the worst tragedies in American history. Like everyone, I’m struggling to understand what happened that night and how to pick up the pieces and start to heal." He followed this by playing Tom Petty’s, "I Won't Back Down."
This was his first time back on-stage since the tragedy in Las Vegas.
