Eric Church is working on Thanksgiving...but for a good cause!
Blake Shelton went from Geeky to Gorgeous...according to People!

Eric Church will help kick off the Salvation Army's Kettle Campaign when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving.
Eric will take the field at halftime to perform.
The game will air on FOX at 4:30 p.m.

Blake Shelton made it into People magazine's Sexiest Man issue -- in the "Geeky to Gorgeous" category. 
Who can forget when Blake wore a mullet and a cowboy hat before transforming into a stud? You can see Blake along with cover boy and Sexiest Man Alive- Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on this week’s issue of People on newsstands now.

Carrie Underwood invites Crystal Gayle to join the Grand Ole Opry....finally!
George Strait adds more dates to his Las Vegas run- Viva Las George!

Carrie Underwood had the honor of asking her friend Crystal Gayle to join the Grand Ole Opry earlier this week. 
After their duet performance of Crystal's classic hit "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue," Carrie turned and invited Crystal to make it official and become part of the Opry family. Her sister Loretta Lynn will do the honor of inducting her on January 21st. Crystal made her Opry debut more than 50 years ago.

 

George Strait is extending his Las Vegas run with eight more performances at T-Mobile Arena in 2017. These are in addition to the two already booked shows on February 17th and 19th. The shows are being billed as two nights of number-ones with each show featuring different hits over each weekend. His box set Strait Out of the Box: Part 2 is available Friday.

Darius Rucker has been named the 2017 ambassador for the Home for Good project to help hundreds of 

families build homes through Habitat for Humanity. 

He says, “From an early age, my mother always encouraged us to give back, whether it was mowing a 

neighbor's yard or supporting a friend. I think it's important to give back anytime any chance you can."

Since its inception, the Home for Good project has donated building materials to help 300 Habitat 

families build their homes.

 

 

Carrie Underwood will defend her title as Favorite Female Country Artist at next year's People's Choice Awards.

She'll go up against Dolly Parton, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire. 

The contenders for Favorite Male Country Artist are Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and Tim McGraw.

Favorite Country Group nominees are The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Lonestar and Zac Brown Band. 

 

Nashville News: Tuesday, 11/15

Billboard magazine will honor Maren Morris with its 2016 Women in Music Breakthrough Artist award.

Billboard reports that the Breakthrough Artist award goes to an artist who has released “career-defining” music and become a “leading voice” in the genre over the last 12 months, citing the success of Hero, which became the first debut by a female country artist to reach No. 1 in almost two years. “My Church” 

also topped Billboard‘s Digital Sales chart in country music.

The 11th annual Billboard Women in Music event takes place Dec. 9 in New York City, and airs on Lifetime on Dec. 12.

 


Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren caught some flak when they decided to get married at age 22 -- and he still says it 

was the right move.

He tells People County, “Everybody was telling us not to…but we just fell in love at a young age. The first year she was on the bus with me 285 days, sharing a bunk, which is smaller 

than a twin bed. It’s been five years on the road now.”

They celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary last month.

 

Nashville News: Monday, 11/14

23 years after the release of her triple-platinum debut album Take Me As I Am, Faith Hill will issue her 

final album for Warner Brothers Records. 

Deep Tracks, out November 18th, compiles a selection of non-hit cuts from four of her old albums with 

three previously unreleased recordings.

 

Brad Paisley announced what fans have been hoping for since 2014 -- an upcoming album. Love and War 

will be released in February. 

The album will include the lead single "Without a Fight," featuring Demi Lovato, as well as his current single, "Today." It also includes a fun tune called “Selfie Stick, 

a duet with Mick Jagger and a collaboration with Brent Anderson. 

 

Cole Swindell is busy celebrating his latest number-one as "Middle of a Memory" hit the top of the charts 

over the weekend. 

It nabbed the top spot from Luke Bryan's "Move," bringing Cole his fifth number-one single.
