Perfect Weekend For A Pot Roast!

Written by

This weekend the temps are going to be a little cooler and fall will be in full swing. This week, I made a pot roast that I must admit- may have been my best ever!

A slight chill in the air, a hoodie on, football on the TV, meat in the crock pot, that is my idea of a fantastic fall day! Here's my pot roast prep. I don't call it a recipe. It is just how I fix it! Ha!

Sarah Kay Pots the Roast:
Cut up as many potatoes that can fit comfortably in the bottom of the crock pot.

Place the roast on top. (I like a good sized English Roast)

Add carrots around the roast.

Make the sauce! I use 2 jars of cocktail sauce. Empty them into a large bowl and then fill both bottles with Coke or Dr. Pepper. Your choice and pour it in the bowl. Then whisk it all together. Pour that mixture on the meat, and veggies.

Turn the crock pot on high for about 5 to 6 hours until the meat and taters are tender. I love to add some green beans. I add those about 1 hour before everything is done.

Enjoy!
