The 53rd CMAs are on tonight. I am a voting member of the CMA, so I thought I would give you not my thoughts on who I voted for, but who I think SHOULD win, WILL win and who COULD win, because sometimes the CMAs surprise the heck out of me!

THE NOMINEES:

Song of the Year
"Beautiful Crazy"
"Girl" 
"God's Country" 
"Rainbow"
"Tequila"

SHOULD WIN: “Beautiful Crazy”- You're going to notice that every time Luke Combs is nominated I am going to say give him the award. He is deserving. Give him all the awards.

WILL WIN: “Tequila”- I have a feeling it is going to be a big night for Dan + Shay and this is the songwriters awards.

COULD WIN: “God’s Country” or “Rainbow” the CMA loves the songwriters and they love them some Kacey Musgraves.

Single of the Year
"Burning Man" - Dierks Bentley
"Girl" - Maren Morris
"God's Country" - Blake Shelton
"Millionaire" - Chris Stapleton
"Speechless" - Dan and Shay

SHOULD WIN: “God’s Country”- Blake so should win. This song revived him and it is fantastic!

WILL WIN: “Speechless”- this is a great song too and it was #1 for a bazillion weeks, crossed genres and like I said I have a feeling Dan + Shay will have a big night.

COULD WIN: “Millionaire”- this is a perfect Chris Stapleton offering. CMA voters love him, so you never know.

Duo of the Year
Brooks and Dunn
Dan + Shay
Brothers Osborne
Florida Georgia Line
Maddie and Tae

SHOULD WIN: Dan + Shay- it is their year. With the success of “Tequila” and “Speechless” to me, they are the favorite.

WILL WIN: Dan + Shay- see above ;)

COULD WIN: Brothers Osborne- they are another CMA favorite. These guys are a personal favorite and I would not mind a bit if they take the category again this year. They are great songwriters, people and all around cool dudes. OR Brooks and Dunn- they are CMA legends who had a fabulous year!

Vocal Group of the Year
Lady Antebellum
Little Big Town
Midland
Old Dominion
Zac Brown Band

SHOULD WIN: Old Dominion- give the CMA to them! They write catchy tune after catchy tune! Love them!

WILL WIN: Old Dominion. To me this is a no brainer.

COULD WIN: Have I mentioned Old Dominion?

New Artist of the Year
Cody Johnson
Midland
Carly Pearce
Ashley McBryde
Morgan Wallen

SHOULD WIN: Morgan Wallen- this is a tough category this year because this is a talented group. Morgan sticks out to me. He is cranking out the hits and shows a great range.

WILL WIN: Ashley McBryde- you can’t deny her talent and songwriting skills. I am not mad at all that see is gonna win a bunch of awards for a long time to come.

COULD WIN: It is between Morgan and Ashley in my mind. But, a curve ball from the CMA is never a total shock.

Female Vocalist of the Year
Kelsea Ballerini
Miranda Lambert
Maren Morris
Kacey Musgraves
Carrie Underwood

SHOULD WIN: Carrie Underwood- for heaven’s sake this woman can sing. She toured all year, sang her face off and well, cried pretty.

WILL WIN: Carrie Underwood- she is hosting, hand her the CMA!

COULD WIN: Miranda or Kacey, both CMA faves.

Male Vocalist of the Year
Dierks Bentley
Luke Combs
Thomas Rhett
Chris Stapleton
Keith Urban

SHOULD WIN: Luke Combs- I love him, he is nominated- so he wins in my mind. Every song he sings goes to #1. How does he not win??

WILL WIN: Keith Urban or Chris Stapleton- Ughhhh, this the hardest category to predict in my mind!!! They could all win and I would be ok with it! However, Keith is on a role right now and Chris is a CMA favorite.

COULD WIN: Thomas Rhett- he can do no wrong and that is all right! His album Center Point Road is amazing! So, you never know. 

Entertainer of the Year
Garth Brooks
Eric Church
Chris Stapleton
Carrie Underwood
Keith Urban

SHOULD WIN: Garth Brooks- Let me be clear: Garth. Is. The. Entertainer. Of. My. Life! That is all.

WILL WIN: Carrie Underwood- ok listen, I like me some Carrie just like the next person, but the vibe of this year’s CMAs has been setting the stage for her to take the big award. A woman hasn’t won since 2011 (Taylor Swift), she is hosting with 2 other women, they are honoring the great women of country music, and it would be fitting to crown her as Entertainer of the Year.

COULD WIN: Eric Church- he is totally deserving of this award as well. He double downed with his tour and after all, he is Eric freaking Church!

Just my thoughts! I am sure the sentiment is true, It is an honor to just be nominated! I will be tuning in tonight as the CMAs air live from Nashville at 8pm on ABC!
