Jason Aldean is the next in line for his own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
He says, "That building is filled with the artists who helped create and shape country music, so to be a part of that legacy is something I am very proud of."
The exhibit opens on May 26th and runs through November 5th.
Carrie Underwood will be taking it easier in 2017. She said recently, “I think I’m gonna enjoy a little time with my family and then start writing, maybe, and just seeing what I’m ready to do. There’s no real plans.”
Carrie spent much of 2016 on the road for her massive Storyteller Tour and in promotion of her latest album, Storyteller. She recently wrapped up a co-headlining tour with Keith Urban in Australia and New Zealand.
Alison Krauss is putting out a new album...
Brantley Gilbert paid his wife in a very interesting way to be in his new video...
Alison Krauss is set to release Windy City, her first album without her band since she put out Raising Sand with Robert Plant in 2007.
The album is a collection of classics, including "Gentle on My Mind" and "You Don't Know Me." Hank Williams Junior, Jamey Johnson and Teddy Gentry add backing vocals on some of the tracks.
Windy City comes out on February 17th.
Brantley Gilbert's wife Amber has a starring role in the video for his single "The Weekend" -- but she got an unusual paycheck.
It didn't take much convincing for her to take part in the shoot -- just a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes and some new dishes.
Eric Church is taking on scalpers...
The Mavericks are putting out a new albums...
When Eric Church hits the road on his 2017 Holdin My Own Tour he has no plans to go easy on ticket scalpers. The tour begins on this week, but he has already cancelled thousands of tickets.
Eric has been open on social media about his frustration surrounding scalpers, and he revealed last week in a Twitter post that almost 2,000 scalped tickets in tour stops (including Philadelphia and Green Bay) have been cancelled. He made a similar announcement in a Tweet posted in late 2016 that roughly 1,000 tickets had been purchased by scalpers in Brooklyn, Boston and Sioux Falls, which have since been re-released at their standard rate. So far- Eric Church 3,000, Scalpers- zero!
The Mavericks are breaking new ground with their forthcoming album Brand New Day. The record will have 10 tracks and is due out March 31st.
Brand New Day will feature songs that blend the band’s genre-bending musical style that fans have come to know and love.
2016 was a big year for songs and albums in country music...
Eight country singles released in 2016 earned gold, platinum or double-platinum designations for their sales. Florida Georgia Line’s “H.O.L.Y” was the only country song of 2016 to earn double-platinum certification for sales of 2 million.
Dierks’ “Somewhere on a Beach” was designated platinum for 1 million in sales, while his duo with Elle King, “Different for Girls,” earned gold status for sales of 500,000. Blake’s “She’s Got a Way With Words” and “Came Here to Forget” were both designated gold.
Cole Swindell’s “You Should Be Here” was one of three country songs in 2016 to be certified platinum or double-platinum. Rounding out the list were Dan + Shay’s “From the Ground Up” and Jake Owen’s “American Country Love Song,” which both earned gold designations.
And it was good to be Garth Brooks in 2016.
He released a nine-album bundle set at Target in November, and each album has been certified platinum for 1 million certified units, including Garth’s new studio album, Gunslinger, as well as the eight other albums that were part of the bundle.
