Do people ever tell you to just be happier? Does it make you angry because you just don’t know how? Here are a couple of habits of optimistic people that might just help all of us:

  • Gratitude - It all starts with counting our blessings. If you are not grateful for the good things in your life, you will never be satisfied.
     
  • Forgive – Forgiveness isn’t so much for the person who wronged you, but for you to relieve yourself of the burden of carrying around all that anger and resentment.
     
  • Smile – Not only does smiling physiologically make you feel better, it makes the people around you happier and more comfortable.
     
  • Create  your future – Don’t let your past dictate your future. People come from all kinds of terrible backgrounds, but they can still be destined for great things.

Though it seems like this list has been brought to you by the Institute of “DUH,” if you want to keep yourself from an early grave, you should probably get on board with these 4 lifestyle changes:

  • Eat a Mediterranean diet (lean meats and fish, vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, nuts, olives, and olive oil along with some cheese, yogurt, eggs, and red wine)
     
  • Exercise
     
  • Maintain a normal weight
     
  • Stop smoking

Hard as it may be to believe, there are still tons of people in this country and all over the world using things you have given up years ago.  Check out this list. This is just in America! 

Dial-Up Internet – A recent survey found that four percent of American adults still use a modem to get online.
     
Pagers – Americans bought about $7 million worth of new pagers last year.
     
Pay Phones – The U.S. still has 305,000 working pay phones –  50 million calls in 2012.
     
VHS and Cassette Tapes – Amazing, but true … 13 million blank cassettes and VHS tapes were sold last year. 
     
Film – Remember the good old days when you needed something called “film” to actually take a picture? Still selling tons of it!
