Blue & Misty

on 18 December 2013.

Meet Blue (and an already adopted Misty). I watched these two dogs get surrendered to the County on Saturday. Scenario: two guys pull up in a truck. Not knowing the process, they let the dogs out of their truck in the parking lot immediately. When told that the dogs come in through another area, they shoved the 9 year old Husky back into the back end of the truck. Then, void of compassion, they tossed the little one in too! If they were sobbing or concerned I would not be posting this interpretation but they appeared relieved to discard their pets after nine years of togetherness. Somehow and some way, these sweet dogs had become less-valued. And now, because tiny Misty is a highly desirable lap dog and was adopted immediately, the siblings will never see each other again - and big Blue still waits. Might you have room in your home and your heart for a big, sweet and gentle dog in his “Golden Years.” Please don’t delay … let’s get Blue home for the holidays.

Note: Please keep in mind that all adoptable pets need time to decompress once they enter a home. For some it will happen quickly and for others it might take a few weeks. You'll want to be understanding of what they have been through and their level of insecurity. We ask that you treat all of them as if they were an 8 week old puppy. Assume they know nothing and begin at step one. You'll soon know what they are capable of and what behaviors you will need to work on with your new family member. It's called commitment! And, that's what these pets want more than anything!
