The 12 Strays of Christmas Featured

This Holiday Season 94.9 WQMX is teaming up with Pay it Forward For Pets to help 12 stray animals find a loving home during our 12 Strays of Christmas!

Every weekday morning through December 22nd we’ll feature a stray of the day - a dog or cat from Summit County Animal Control who needs a home for the Holidays - and beyond.

There are many more animals in need of a home at SCAC. To see additional animals up for adoption, please visit http://payitforwardforpets.org/adoptable-pets/.

5 - 12/13/17 - Kaylee

Hi, my name is Kaylee and I am not only a sweet girl, I am a fun young cat too!  Entertaining myself is what I do best but I’d be happy to entertain you too.  Cats are often accused of being aloof but I’m far from that.  I’m interactive and excited about life.  I never imagined I’d spend any time in a shelter but here I am!  Hopefully, my stay will be short and I will have a home for the holidays?  Might your family be looking for a girl like me?

You can find Kaylee up for adoption at Summit County Animal Control, 250 Opportunity Parkway, in Downtown Akron.

SCAC hours of operation: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 10am-5pm, Wednesday: 10am-7pm, Saturday: 10am-3pm. Closed on Holidays. Phone: (330) 643-2845.

4 - 12/12/17 - Jamal

Available immediately… Jamal was with us just a short time ago and was returned because the dog he went to live with could not accept him. This dog is perfection! He is a beautiful, immaculate looking boy with perfect body proportions and great character to his face. He's smart and agreeable and already knows some commands. This guy is wonderful and whomever adopts him will get the gem!  Don't delay… Go to the shelter and take Jamal home today!

You can find Jamal up for adoption at Summit County Animal Control, 250 Opportunity Parkway, in Downtown Akron.

SCAC hours of operation: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 10am-5pm, Wednesday: 10am-7pm, Saturday: 10am-3pm. Closed on Holidays. Phone: (330) 643-2845.

3 - 12/11/17 - Kittles

Hi, my name is Kittles and I’m a younger cat looking for a home.  I love human interaction, and once I make it home, I promise I will be waiting for you patiently (or impatiently) at the door, following you from room to room, “helping” you with your work, sitting with you as you read, or bringing you gifts. Yep, gifts … and both of us know what that might be???  Shelter life is no place for a kitty like me.  I’ve got a lot of living to do … will I be doing it with you?

You can find Kittles up for adoption at Summit County Animal Control, 250 Opportunity Parkway, in Downtown Akron.

SCAC hours of operation: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 10am-5pm, Wednesday: 10am-7pm, Saturday: 10am-3pm. Closed on Holidays. Phone: (330) 643-2845.

2 - 12/8/17 - Miranda

Working with an Akron police officer, PIFFP was contacted to assist and rescue 4 of 9 puppies living with an indigent man.  The man insisted on keeping and selling 5 of them for cash.  Given the opportunity, and not giving up, the organization would like to take possession of the remaining 5 if we can.  Meanwhile, not surprising, Miranda is a beauty!  She is a spunky girl and has a bit of attitude … I mean, can’t you see it in her eyes?  You definitely get the impression that this little chick is no push-over!  Her male littermates are mesmerized by her stunning blue eyes and her “over-the-top” confidence.  She’s an 8 week old Pit Bull Terrier.  Her mom weighs in at around 35 pounds and Dad is about 45 pounds so Miranda is going to be a medium sized gal once she’s full grown.  Puppies are the best … but they’re a lot of work!  Know what you are signing up for and commit to the 18 month process.  If you put the time into a new puppy early-on it’s sure to pay off in love and loyalty for the next 15 years.  Interested in adopting?  Contact Georjette @ 330.760.0763 for an appointment to meet Miranda.  All dogs receive age-appropriate vaccines, flea control, dewormed and are spay/neutered prior to adoption.

1 - 12/7/17 - Brad

Working with an Akron police officer, PIFFP was contacted to assist and rescue 4 of 9 puppies living with an indigent man.  The man insisted on keeping and selling 5 of them for cash.  Given the opportunity, and not giving up, the organization would like to take possession of the remaining 5 if we can.  Meanwhile, not surprising, Brad is as smooth as silk … good-looking too!  He is the sweetest boy ever and maybe the most laid-back too.  His female littermates appreciate his kindness and prefer to cuddle with him for comfort and long naps.  He’s an 8 week old Pit Bull Terrier.  His mom weighs in at around 35 pounds and Dad is about 45 pounds so Brad is going to be a medium sized boy once he’s full grown.  Puppies are the best … but they’re a lot of work!  Know what you are signing up for and commit to the 18 month process.  If you put the time into a new puppy early-on it’s sure to pay off in love and loyalty for the next 15 years.  Interested in adopting?  Contact Georjette @ 330.760.0763 for an appointment to meet Brad.  All dogs receive age-appropriate vaccines, flea control, dewormed and are spay/neutered prior to adoption.
