Scott Wynn

Scott Wynn is the "Wynn" part of the Wynn and Wilson morning show on WQMX. Scott is a Northeast Ohio native, a 28- year radio veteran and has hosted many great morning shows in markets all over the country. Scott's stops have included Columbus, Ohio, Richmond, Virginia, Jefferson City, Missouri, and Lakeland, Florida. In 1997 Scott, while at WPCV in Lakeland was recognized with then-partner Tom O'Brien as the CMA Broadcast Personality of the Year.

Scott is lifetime member of the CMA, and has worked in country radio exclusively for the past 26 years. "I love doing the morning show here at WQMX. We've been so lucky to add Sue Wilson to the team; what a terrific addition! I love coming in and hanging with this very talented team of Sue, Chris, Ryan, and Tony Jackson at the Weather Channel every morning." Scott is also a contributor or Akronnewsnow.com as a blogger and as a movie reviewer.

Scott loves to golf, work out, and work on his 88 year old house with his bride Stacy of seven years. They live with their Austrailian Cattle dog "Kona". Scott also feels blessed to have the greatest friends he could ever imagine and enjoys spending time with them.

Sue Wilson

Sue joined the WQMX morning show in July as co-host with Scott Wynn. Although a recent addition to the morning show, Sue has been at the station for 2 years as Program Director. 

A lifelong resident of Akron, Sue considers herself fortunate to have been able to spend her entire career in the area she was born and raised; as an air personality, music director, research director, program director and programming consultant.

Sue began her radio career in Sandusky before working at WKDD in Akron. From there, she moved to Cleveland's 106.5 (then WLTF) as an on air talent and music/research director. Then on to 102.1 WDOK in Cleveland where she designed the Soft Rock formatics and changed that station from "elevator music" to "Soft Rock." She led WDOK to the top of the ratings and remained there for 12 years before joining McVay Media as a radio consultant. In 2001, she was hired to launch a brand new station, 95.5 The Fish. She programmed The Fish until December of 2006, when she joined WQMX.

Sue also does professional voice-over work and radio station imaging through her freelance voice business "Sue Wilson Creative." You can hear her voice on radio stations in several markets around the country, including Your Country 94.9 WQMX!

Although many of the stations Sue has worked for have not been country, she is no stranger to country music. Long-time country radio listeners may remember Sue's late husband, Phil Cordle, who worked at the legendary Akron country station WSLR 1350/AM for many years. Sue has always been a fan of country music, and is thrilled to now be programming a music style she loves. Sue lives in the area with her two beautiful daughters and three..yes 3...dogs!

Chris Keppler

Chris first opened a microphone at WZIP-FM at The University of Akron in 1990 but got his first paid radio job delivering weekend news on WZKL-FM & WDPN-AM in Alliance. Chris then moved to WJER AM & FM in Dover where he reported on Tuscarawas County, including stories that made national headlines. Chris has been honored by his peers with first place awards from the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters including Best Reporter, Best Feature Story, and Best Broadcast Writing among others. In addition to his work as a broadcast journalist Chris has also worked in public relations and as an instructor at the University of Akron teaching Broadcast News Writing. Chris enjoys volunteer work, and has served on the boards of the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters, Public Relations Society of America (Akron Area Chapter), American Cancer Society Hope Gala Committee and currently serves on the Green Baseball/Softball Federation Board. Lynn Kelly

Lynn was born in Akron, Ohio and spent her school years here all the way through the University of Akron. Her radio career began at country station K105 in Salem in the news department.. From there she worked in Millersburg at WLKM, yes, they have a radio station there, and had stints in Mansfield before coming back home to work for crosstown station WKDD, where she spent 10 years. In 2003 she decided to stay home full time with her son Andrew. When he was in school, she had the opportunity to work at noncommercial WAPS here in Akron, where she worked until joining WQMX. Even though Lynn had never worked in country radio before, she was excited to take on the challenge and jump back into radio full time. "Country listeners are the friendliest, most down to earth people I have ever met, and they have welcomed me with open arms" says Lynn. "I truly feel at home here and it's wonderful to do what I do in my hometown!" Lynn makes her home on the west side of Akron around the corner from the radio station, with her husband and son Aside from making Andrew, her priority and keeping up with her step-daughter Olivia, 14, she enjoys spending her spare time outside in the yard in the summer, and most recently she has tried snowboarding this winter. Ken Steel

Ken Steel has been a resident of Northeast Ohio for over 40 years. Ken grew up in Streetsboro, Ohio and graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1989. (See George McFly bio yes Ken and George both went to the same school and graduated the same year.) Streetsboro High School had its own student run radio station, WSTB-FM, where Ken got hooked on radio broadcasting. After high school, Ken had a short stint at the University of Akron radio station 88.1 WZIP, and an even shorter stint at 106.9 in Canton. In 1991, when he was just 19 years old, Ken came to WQMX (which wasn't even a country station at the time) to work part-time. WQMX switched from an Adult Contemporary format (a.k.a. Lite Rock) to Country music in April 1993 and it wasn't long before Ken had a full-time slot every weeknight from 7-Midnight. Over the past 20 years, Ken has climbed his way to country radio super-stardom (at least thats what his mom says) and now you can hear Ken every weekday afternoon from 3pm until 7pm. Ken is also the stations Assistant Program Director and Music Director which, in short, means that he plays a role in determining which songs are played on the air. Ken says, If you ever hear a song that you don't like, I had nothing to do with that, but whenever you hear your favorite song, "thats all me, baby and you're welcome!"  Ken went back to school fairly recently and received his bachelors degree in Marketing Management and eMarketing/Advertising from the University of Akron in 2006. He claims he went back to college just in case he has to get a real job when (and if) he grows up. Ken has been married for 18 years to his lovely wife Kelli, and has two children: his son Derek and daughter, Hunter. And lets not forget about the cat and dog, Gracie and Scout. Sarah Kay

Something you may notice about Sarah Kay when you meet her is that she wears pink everyday!

She has been doing to since she was 13, so why stop now?! Everything is pink- her glasses, her cell phone and even her Christmas tree.

Sarah Kay was born and raised in Hartville, Ohio.

She graduated from Kent State University in 2004 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She knew she wanted to go into radio at an early age because all she ever does is talk! Sarah loves meeting new people and socializing- she has never met a stranger.

When Sarah is not at work she loves to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes with her husband Warren and friends.

To show her tried and true OSU spirit; Sarah has been known to run around town dressed as a buckeye. She loves sharing random and useless information with anyone who will listen- if it random and useless, Sarah knows about it. For example: Did you know a Ritz Cracker has 7 holes? Did you know that if you chew gum while peeling onions your eyes won't burn?

Uncle Charlie

Uncle Charlie keeps you company during the early morning hours every weekday morning from 12 Midnight until 5:30 AM on WQMX. 

Charlie grew up in Canton, and graduated from Jackson High School (go Polar Bears). Charlie joined the Marine Corps at 17, and spent 5 years in Special Forces. (Man does he have stories!) Happily married for 16 years, Charlie and his wife Cindy have 3 lovely daughters and 2 4-legged children a Fox Terrier named Sandy and Onyx, the Pug. Charlie also works for the Akron Aeros during the season overall he says: Life is good! I have a great family, friends and the best job in the world, getting paid to talk and watch baseball from the press box!

Whether you are working the 3rd shift, up late studying or just hanging out...spend the overnight hours with your favorite Uncle, Uncle Charlie on WQMX!

Joe Friday

Joe currently hosts the all Request Saturday Night Show, every Saturday from 7pm until Midnight.

Joe joined WQMX in 2001 as the host of WQMX's All Request Saturday Night, then moved to the overnight show and hosted that for a little over a year before accepting a position at another company. Previously, Joe worked at AM 1320 WOBL in Oberlin -- his first radio gig.

Joe has never been married and has no kids and he continues the search for his soulmate. He lives in Olmsted Falls with his one remaining childhood cat, Pepper. He enjoys cooking/eating, home repair, bike riding, road trips, texas hold 'em, Nintendo Wii, his Lay-Z-Boy, and drinking responsibly :) Joe is a television-addict. Some of his favorite TV shows, past and present, include 24, House, Survivor, The King of Queens, WKRP in Cincinnati, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Get Smart, All in the Family, The Honeymooners and the original Dennis The Menace sitcom.
