This week there are finally some movies that you may remember from a few months ago available for you to rent, buy or stream. There are movies for the adults, and the family alike.
Dogs aren’t the only animals that raise our oxytocin levels and calm our anxiety.
Cats do it too.
This is why we want to shine a little light on our other furry friends that are used as therapy animals.
Stroking or cuddling a cat can have a positive effect on your health. Research shows that cats can relieve stress and lower blood pressure, and studies have found that the hormone oxytocin is released when we're around pets, triggering feelings of happiness.
With results like these, it's no wonder therapy cats are often taken to hospitals, nursing homes, schools and even prisons. But what does it take for a feline to become a certified therapy animal?
Cats are often taken to nursing homes and hospitals by groups like “Love on a Leash” and “Pet Partners” as a way to cheer up patients and lower blood pressure.
So next time you get the urge to cuddle up to something, give a cat a try. If you do it right, you’ll have a friend for life.
