Moose

What a great dog and what a sad story … I witnessed this one myself. Scenario: A man and his wife adopted Moose 8 months ago. The wife awakens that morning and says to the husband, “Take that dog back to the shelter and bring me home a cat.” In walks the man and he explains his intentions at the desk. Very matter of fact, he then states, “where do I see the cats?” Meanwhile, sitting in the passenger seat of the car, Moose is watching his pet owner from the car window not knowing his impending fate. Within minutes, this extremely well-mannered, loveable dog found himself living in a shelter. End of story. Who knew that there are people who believe that – at whim - the family pet can be traded in for a different one? Is this their idea of a “commitment?” Don’t delay … take this great dog home today!

Note: Please keep in mind that all adoptable pets need time to decompress once they enter a home. For some it will happen quickly and for others it might take a few weeks. You'll want to be understanding of what they have been through and their level of insecurity. We ask that you treat all of them as if they were an 8 week old puppy. Assume they know nothing and begin at step one. You'll soon know what they are capable of and what behaviors you will need to work on with your new family member. It's called commitment! And, that's what these pets want more than anything!
