The HALO Foundation,
Super Storm Sandy Drive
Loading of Semi with Local Donations
At Rubber City Radio Akron, OH – April 27, 2013
The HALO Foundation Student Leaders accepted the challenge of Lakeview Intermediate School KKids in Stow, Ohio, to come together to load a semi with donations of special, immediate needs for Super Storm Sandy victims in the Barrier Islands of New Jersey and Long Beach, New York. Donations will be received on Saturday, April 27 from 9 AM to 4 PM at Rubber City Radio, 1795 West Market St, Akron, OH. Summit County communities are invited to bring donations of new, and clean, gently-used clothing, household items, school supplies and non- perishable food for those survivors of Super Storm Sandy’s wrath and now are facing the nearly insurmountable task of putting the pieces of their lives back together. The HALO Foundation (Hope Always Lives On) is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization, based in Akron, Ohio, embracing the concept of promoting service for those in crisis, including charitable activities, as seeds of hope and restoration.
The loading of the truck is symbolic for the community. The HALO Foundation surmises that while helping Super Storm Sandy Survivors today, we nourish another’s tomorrow. The success of this drive will sanction The HALO Foundation to supply Hope by delivering a truck with special totes filled with donations gathered via local schools and community businesses.
HOW TO HELP:
Purchase a $ 15.00 tote for $7.00 to be given to needy families filled with supplies.
Bring new and clean, gently-used clothing and household Items.
